And the main theme she tries to pass on to juniors to college players during her series of clinics called “Red Bull Tee Time with Lexi Thompson” is simple: It can happen to you.

The 19-year-old Coral Springs resident, who became the second-youngest LPGA major champion in history in winning the Kraft Nabisco last April, brought her clinic to the University of North Florida’s Golfplex on Wednesday, working with a mix of junior members of The First Tee and UNF students.

“Winning a major feels amazing,” she said. “It hasn’t made me different as a person but it’s given me a lot more confidence, knowing I pulled shots off and made putts under that kind of pressure. These clinics are my way of giving back to my fans, and I tell people how much hard work helped me realize my goals and my dreams in doing what I love.”

Thompson hasn’t won on the LPGA Tour since but she had top-10 finishes in two other majors, the Evian Championship and the U.S. Women’s Open and made the cut in all five majors.
